A street protest organised to stop the opening of a mosque in Dagenham is set to go ahead as planned tomorrow.
The lunchtime demo in Green Lane, Dagenham, will seek to make a stand against a community centre and Muslim place of worship approved despite 1,300 objections in January.
The English Nationalist Alliance, which is joining the protest, reported on its website that it planned to go to the High Court to try to have the planning decision overturned through a judicial review.
Far-right groups staged two demos against the premises last month but the group behind the proposals, Becontree Heath Islamic Society, says the centre will benefit the community.
