THE BNP staged a protest last night as Neil Kinnock congratulated Labour on crushing the far-right party.
The Labour stalwart was hosting a party fundraiser with Barking MP Margaret Hodge in Ripple Road, Barking.
The BNP used the demo to launch a campaign to try to cut the number of councillors in Barking and Dagenham.
The far-right party, defeated by Labour last May, argues councillors’ allowances are a drain on resources at a time of budget cuts.
The BNP is planning a street protest on Saturday against a new mosque and community centre in Green Lane, Dagenham, which was given the go-ahead last month despite 1,300 objections.
