Plans to turn a rundown industrial site into a multi-million pound leisure park could create up to 3,000 jobs.

Barking and Dagenham cabinet has endorsed a prospectus inviting developers to express interest in regenerating the site, off New Road in Dagenham.

Labour Cllr Cameron Geddes, regeneration cabinet member, said on March 20 the leisure attraction and other facilities including a Beam Park railway station could generate around 3,000 jobs. The regenerated site would be located near a new Tesco depot.
