Dagenham and Rainham MP has criticised the Boundary Commission’s proposals to alter the current constituency boundaries.

Under the proposals, the wards making up the newly altered Dagenham and Rainham constituency would be Alibon, Eastbrook, Heath, River, Valence, Village and Whalebone, in addition to three Havering wards.

More of Dagenham would be in the constituency, but most of Chadwell Heath would now be in Romford.

Mr Cruddas said: “This isn’t what I expected, and I will be challenging the decision during the next consultation period.

“According to the regional view this is the best possible outcome, but I disagree. I’m urging the people of Chadwell Heath to join me in raising concerns about this move with the boundary commission over the coming weeks.”
