A 43-year-old lorry driver has been charged with causing death by careless driving six months after a young woman was killed in Dagenham.
Jay Davey, of Antrim Road, Shoeburyness-on-sea, appeared at Barkingside Magistrates on Tuesday charged with the death of Masuma Mawji, 25, on the A1083/Green Lane on March 5.
He has been bailed and will return to the court in Cranbrook Road, Barkingside, on September 23.
Davey was arrested in conjunction with the incident and was originally released on bail until May.
Miss Mawji, a former student of nearby Mayfield School, Pedley Road, and Redbridge College, Barley Lane, Little Heath, died at the scene after the lorry hit her minutes after leaving the family business, Nuchem Pharmacy, also in Green Lane.
