A SECOND World War hero was callously duped by a con-woman who helped him home with his shopping and then stole his treasured bravery medals.
The elderly victim, who is 86 and walks with a stick, was struggling back to his house in Dagenham with heavy groceries.
When a young woman asked if he needed assistance he gladly accepted, thanking her for her kindness.
It was only after the woman had left his home that the elderly veteran realised money and his irreplaceable WWII bravery medals were missing.
