Major road works are set to disrupt Barking and Dagenham’s roads for over three months, from January to mid-April.

Wood Lane in Dagenham will be restricted to a single lane with a temporary traffic light controlling the flow of vehicles.

The works begin on Tuesday, January 2.

Althorne Way will be closed at its junction with Wood Lane and alternative access will be available via Stour Road.

Stour Road will be changed temporarily to two-way traffic to allow access for local residents and people attending Becontree Heath Leisure Centre, Morrisons supermarket and the Three Travellers pub.

The work is being carried out by Essex and Suffolk Water and Cadent Gas.

There will be road closures across the region, including in nearby Havering and Redbridge.

Signs will be put up to notify drivers of road closures and diversions.
