POLICE have arrested a man in connection with an armed robbery at Upminster station.

Rasallus Fagan, of Westbury Road, Barking, was arrested last Thursday (March 27) and charged with robbery and possession of a prohibited weapon.

A member of staff was threatened with a taser weapon during the robbery, which took place at 5.10am on January 21.

A substantial amount of cash was stolen during the robbery.

It was later recovered outside premises in Branfill Road as police made a search of the area.

The arrest follows a nine-week investigation by the British Transport Police East London robbery squad involving forensic work and witness appeals.

Mr Fagan has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on July 3.
