A man who was asked to remove his sunglasses in a gambling shop reacted by punching and kicking staff before stealing a phone.

Punters looked on as the suspect chased a shop assistant around a room after being told he had to leave the East Street, Barking premises if he would not remove his eyewear.

CCTV footage shows that another shop assistant then called the police before the man took the phone and fled.

The attack happened on Wednesday, August 26 at 10.20pm and police are keen to speak with the male suspect.

He is described as being in his mid-20s, 5ft 7in tall and wearing a high visibility jacket.
