A DAGENHAM man needed surgery on a broken jaw after being attacked in Romford.

The 21-year-old victim was enjoying a night out in Bentley's Wine Bar, South Street, on March 8.

One of his friends got into an argument with a group of eight to ten men which spilled out onto the street at 2.30am.

He intervened, but was hit over the head with a bottle, punched to the floor, and kicked unconscious.

He suffered a broken jaw and had metal plates inserted at Queens Hospital.
