Man seriously injured in assault outside the Barking Dog pub

A man is in a serious condition after he was assaulted outside a pub last night.

Emergency services were called to Station Parade in Barking, just before 9pm.

Ambulance crews treated an unconscious man for a head injury and brought him as a priority to Royal London Hospital.

His injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening.

Abbey ward police confirmed the assault took place outside the Barking Dog pub. Station Parade and Barking station were closed for several hours while a crime scene was in place.

Officers are investigating and no arrests have yet been made.
