Man stabbed in the face in Chadwell Heath found with 10cm knife in his eye

Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in the face in Chadwell Heath.
A 21-year-old man suffered a knife wound to his face on Sunday, March 11 in Station Road.
He was found with a kitchen knife in his left eye.
Officers from the East Area Command Unit are investigating.
A police spokesman said: “The injured man was taken by the London Ambulance Service to an East London hospital where his condition is serious.
“Officers retain an open mind as to motive.”
There have been no arrests at this time.
“[The man] has had an x-ray showing a 10cm blade lodged in his eye,” another police spokeswoman added.
“His condition is described as likely to be non-life threatening, however this will be confirmed post-surgey.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesman added: “We sent an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic, a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as priority.”
