A DAGENHAM BANKER who stole �350,000 from a charity trust fund for his severely disabled niece and from his own grandmother's bank account has been jailed for four years.

Darren Pease, 33, of Dewey Road, Dagenham, said he used the cash to pay for jewellery and expensive holidays for his wife in an attempt to save their ailing marriage.

He took �350,000 from Ellie May Challis's trust fund, which was set up to help the tot who had to have her arms amputated below the elbows and her legs above the knees in 2005 after a near-fatal meningitis attack.
