The winner of the competition will receive £2,500 and will be crowned one of the best singing talents in the country.

Mecca Dagenham is therefore encouraging locals with a talent for singing to upload a video of their performance to the Mecca YouTube channel or email direct to star@meccabingo.com by October 7.

Successful candidates will sing live in front of a panel of expert judges including Claire Sweeney, Duncan James, journalist Susan Hill and X-Factor 2014 winner, Ben Haenow.

The top four singing stars who impress the judges most, will go through to the final stage and have their chance win the cash prize and perform live at the final in January 2019.

Club Manager at Mecca Dagenham, Dan Tree, said: “We’re so excited to announce the return of Mecca Star and after the success of last year, we can’t wait to find out what amazing performers could be hiding in Dagenham!
