The walk, organised by the North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT), will take place in Barking Park next month.

Occupational therapist Nicky Tann said: “We decided to organise our own memory walk in support of the Alzheimer’s Society; to raise funds for vital research and to raise awareness of dementia.

“We also wanted to give people living with dementia and their carers the opportunity to get actively involved.”

The trust has four memory services which support people living with dementia in Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, and regularly holds eco therapy walks for patients and their carers around Eastbrookend Country Park.

The walk begins at 2pm on Sunday, September 9.

To book a free place, call 0300 555 1017 between 10am and 4pm weekdays.
