Two men who were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving have been bailed pending further enquiries.

The 22-year-old and 37-year-old have been questioned in connection with the hit-and-run in Barking that killed Cissy Howlett, 54, earlier this year.

She was left in a critical condition after being knocked down at the junction of Longbridge Road and Wilmington Road on February 1 and died about an hour after she was taken to hospital.

The two men must return to an East London police station for a date in mid-October.
