WOODFORD Golf Club's Championship was won by Sean Marah, who produced an impressive performance over two days.
Competition secretary Marah, playing off a handicap of six, registered the lowest gross score of 71 (one over par gross) to claim the Mead and Scratch, and registered the joint lowest gross of 74 on the Sunday to win the Club Championship.
Paul Swindells, also off six, was three behind Marah on Saturday with a gross 74, a score he repeated on Sunday in matching the new champion's second round score, but the three-shot advantage from round one was sufficient for Marah to clinch the title.
