Viewers have been reacting to the newest Channel 4 game show hosted by Bradley Walsh with many branding it as “ironic”.

Million Pound Shot was broadcast on Channel 4 yesterday (Sunday, November 1) at 9pm after gaining lots of interest on social media.

The show was described as having a “huge twist” and would offer viewers a “night of drama unlike anything he’s [Walsh] hosted before”.

Million Pound Shot gave three contestants the opportunity to win up to £1 million but by gambling their own money.

Fans share mixed reviews on Bradley Walsh’s new game show

One of the show’s contestants, Reece, said he had been struggling financially and could only spend £1,700.

As the game progressed, he ended up gambling over three times that amount.

It was soon revealed that Million Pound Shot was not a real game show but rather a show about the dangers of gambling.

Many people took to social media after the big reveal and praised the show by calling it “brilliant”.

One person said: “Wow that gambling show on C4 with Bradley Walsh was brilliant but scary.

“I smelt a rat straight away and it put the point over perfectly.

“Online gambling virtual/casino & slots, the biggest con of all.”

Another person wrote: “Absolutely brilliant”.

Other people have branded the show “ironic”, as Bradley Walsh’s other game show, The Chase, is sponsored by a bingo site.

One person wrote: “The irony of Channel 4's Million Pound Shot being an elaborate anti-gambling stunt.

“This is the same channel that signed a 14 month sponsorship deal with Paddy Power for First Dates.

“Perhaps the biggest gamble is trying to explain that one.”

Another person said: “The million pound shot.

“Wonder if Bradley felt hypocritical considering he hosts a quiz show sponsored by a bingo/gambling company and their current incentive is deposit £10 and get 100 free spins.”
