It’ll be a lot easier to spot the volunteers who spend time keeping the parks looking good now that they have been presented with uniforms.

The conservation volunteers are organised by the borough’s ranger service and have all spent at least 40 hours weeding, mowing and picking up litter.

Emma Roebuck, education and outreach officer at Barking Park, said: “The volunteers keep on top of tasks that can soon mount up if not done regularly.

“They make a huge difference to the parks they work in.”
