Students at a school in Dagenham helped spread some festive cheer among pensioners in their annual Christmas party.

Robert Clack Sixth Form pupils set up the event for more than 100 OAPs from Park View Care Home, in Morland Rd, Carers of Barking & Dagenham, in Althorne Way and Ebury court in Romford on Monday, December 2, at the school in Green Lane.

The event, which aims to create community cohesion between the school, its students and the elderly, has been running for several years and on this occasion the pupils sang carols, served food and drink, played bingo, danced with their guests and put together a Christmas hamper full of gifts.

Imhad Saleem, assistant head, said: “This was the first night that the students have danced with the OAPs which makes this an extra special one.

“I would like to thank the students for their participation in this event and the staff for putting in their time and effort.”
