Archant

An oil spill that closed the northbound A406 in Redbridge has caused heavy delays and a two-mile tailback through Barking this morning.

The delays are currently back to the A13 in Beckton and traffic is building on the A12 and in central Barking as drivers try and divert away from the incident.

In Redbridge, diverting traffic is slow moving on Cranbrook Road from The Drive – where there are temporary traffic lights – and back through Ilford onto the Romford Road junction with Aldersbrook Road.

Drivers are advised to expect delays and use other routes.
