And while Robin Williams co-stars, it's something of a family affair for Travolta, featuring both his wife, Kelly Preston, and their daughter Ella.
Seth Green, Matt Dillon and the late Bernie Mac - who died in 2008 from pneumonia, aged 50 - also star.
The film's release date was postponed first because of Mac's death, then because of the death of Travolta and Preston's son.
