PLASHET PARK were defeated in the bowls battle of the borough against Salamander on Sunday.

The game was thrilling from the off and rink one was skipped P Chilkes, with R Evett, D Ayre and A Hogwood, who took on skip R Jarrold, with K Morgan, D James and J Pain.

It was a game of nip and tuck for each end right to the last when Salamander won by two points, to seal an 18-16 win.

Rink two was skipped by V Byrne and his team of J Brady, T King and M Mullinder, saw a similarly nailbiting end to their game.

Again, Salamander won the last end to grab the win by 20-17 as J Plunkett, M Collard, M Brown and skip N Warren came out on top.

On rink three, the Plashet Park team, skipped by J Cooper, with G Gale, F Adams and H Morley struggled against the Salamander team of J Lewis, J Lapping, T Payne and skip S Wilson, losing 19-12, sealing an overall 57-45 defeat.
