A PENSIONER visiting her family in North Essex was killed after she was involved in an accident with a car.

The 69-year-old woman from Chadwell Heath, was walking along the B1025 road in Little Walden, near Saffron Walden, when she was in collision with a Citroen C2, on Sunday evening.

She suffered serious head injuries, and was taken by ambulance to Addenbrooke Hospital in Cambridge, where she died shortly afterwards.

The 18-year-old car driver from Cambridgeshire, who was uninjured, was arrested and questioned. He has been released on police bail until July 20 pending further inquiries.
