EAST LONDON'S men's first team picked up an excellent win at Phoenix at the weekend.
Goals from Lee Tickner, Adam Willoughby and Chris Jones were enough to offset two set-pieces from Phoenix, whose slick penalty corner routine almost earned them a share of the points.
East London 6 Phoenix 1
EAST LONDON completed the weekend double over Phoenix.
The Braintree club took an early lead, but Luke Weatherill pulled back a scrappy goal from a penalty corner before the half time whistle.
East London rallied after some serious words from captain Tom Eshelby at half time and Rob Rouse scored twice to claim his sixth goal in the last two games.
A second brace from man of the match Jeff Courtney was enough for East London.
WITH THEIR first team's fixture postponed, East London Ladies' second team won 2-1 at Southend.
The Men's third, fourth and fifth teams also finished off an excellent weekend for the club with victories.
Ali Altaf gave a performance of particular merit for the fifths, scoring three times in a victory against a visiting side from Old Southendian.
