PLASHET PARK were left smouldering in Phoenix's ashes after they were hammered 74-21 in Sunday's East Ham & District League encounter.
On rink two, Alan Hogwood led his team of Jim Brady, John Pain and Ted King out and made a decent start, but D Lane, E Butcher, E Warner and J Lambert were too strong, running out 19-9 winners.
It was the same story on the third rink as the team of Frank Adams, George Davies, Harry Morley and Peter Chilkes started well, but A Aldridge, G Amato, E Hastings and R Harris hit back, claiming a 25-9 victory.
Sadly for Alf Goring, Ken Carter, Cliff Dye and Vic Bryne they were completely outplayed, after they were hammered 30-3 by J Butcher, P Harris, P Andrew and skip J Griffith.
