Hundreds of people enjoyed the event in Teresa Greene Hall in Leys Avenue, Dagenham, which aimed to raise money towards the cost of sending the dancers to compete in a championship at Disneyland Paris in February.

About £1,500 was collected for the group, who performed for the crowds throughout the afternoon.

Other attractions at last Wednesday’s event included a barbecue and several bouncy castles.

Co-principal Jordan Spicer said: “It was a lovely event and we are going to carry on our fundraising because our aim is to get there [to Paris] and we will.

“The group compete quite a bit locally and deserve to go and meet other dancers and have a weekend away as they work really hard.”
