Clem Roberts, the Dagenham man who died after a fight just days before Christmas, has finally been laid to rest.
Mourners gathered in Stanhope Road yesterday morning at the spot where 60-year-old Clem passed away on December 19 2016.
They then followed the beautiful horse-drawn hearse on foot to St Mary’s Parish Church on Valence Wood Road.
The long wait to bury Clem has been particularly painful for his six children, including eldest daughter Simone Roberts, who described is as “frustrating” in an interview with the Post two weeks ago.
The painful delay has been due to the circumstances surrounding his death, for which three people were arrested on suspicion of murder.
Two people have since been released with no further action whilst the third has been bailed to a date in April pending further enquiries.
