EIGHT children have allegedly caught pneumonia while living on a "crumbling" estate deprived of a multi-million pound revamp by the recession.

One of the children, four-year-old Ben Stichbury, of Birdbrook Close, Leys Estate, was critical at Great Ormond Street Hospital for a week.

All of the children, aged between three months and five years. have been recovering but only two of the families had been moved last week.
