EIGHT children have allegedly caught pneumonia while living on a "crumbling" estate deprived of a multi-million pound revamp by the recession.
One of the children, four-year-old Ben Stichbury, of Birdbrook Close, Leys Estate, was critical at Great Ormond Street Hospital for a week.
All of the children, aged between three months and five years. have been recovering but only two of the families had been moved last week.
The 1960s council estate said to have "some of the worst housing in London" missed out on a �7million grant after council bosses were caught up in the recession downturn in July.
