Police appeal after woman hit in face with beer can in Dagenham

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man hit a woman in the face with a beer can in a serious unprovoked attack.

The 54-year-old victim is still receiving treatment as a direct result of the assault which happened in Rainham Road South, Dagenham, on March 29 at about 8.45pm.

Her face was cut and scratched during the attack and she had to attend hospital to receive treatment for her injuries.

The attacker, who is not known to the victim, is described as white, about 5ft 6in tall, with a slim build and short brown hair.

He was wearing a dark coloured bomber jacket, a checked shirt and jeans and spoke with a foreign accent.

He was last seen fleeing the scene along Cambeys Road, Dagenham, with two other males and a female.
