POLICE borough commander Tony Eastaugh hailed dedicated rank-and-file officers who risked their lives to apprehend dangerous criminals.
Pc Jenny Moore was commended for bravery and determination for confronting and restraining two burglars alone.
Pc Jeremy Lim was singled out for professionalism and bravery in the arrest of a man armed with a handgun.
Pc Saima Rizvi and Karen Holman were commended for professionalism, persistence and doggedness leading to the conviction of a man for grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving.
Speaking at the ceremony on Tuesday at the May and Baker sports club, Rainham Road South, Dagenham, Mr Eastaugh said: "These officers represent the best of policing on our borough and I am exceptionally proud of them."
Sgt Sean Bessent, Pc Debbie Cooper, Pc Chloe Snell, Det Con Daryl Gibbs were commended after a successful Old Bailey rape case, along with senior crimes officer Victor Brand, who has died since the case.
Pc Ray McQuarrie, Pc Umer Iqbal, Pc Craig Yardley, Pc Mark Kilby were commended for dealing with an armed robbery and Sgt Chris Thorn, Sgt Steve Storey and Det Con Brett Hagen for their detective ability.
