RESIDENTS got special crime prevention tips when Alibon Safer Neighbourhood Team set up a stand in the Iceland car park in Heathway, Dagenham, last week.

As well as handing out handy hints the SNT gave out anti-tamper number plate screws, and u/v pens to security mark mobile phones and other items.

A total of eight vehicles, 43 mobile phones, and number of Sat Navs were made more secure. In addition, the team handed out leaflets giving contact details for the Alibon police team.

Sgt Chris Hobro told the POST: "This is just one of a number of recent initiatives from Safer Neighbourhood teams.

"We are committed to reducing crime by working closely with the people on our ward.

"We recently started a second local Neighbourhood watch scheme in Osborne Square and we want people to know that we are looking out for them.
