POLICE SEIZED 82 cannabis plants during a raid on a flat in the Gascoigne Estate, following a tip off from a resident.

The drug farm was discovered in Rookwood House, St Marys, Barking, on Tuesday, June 16.

Police officers found a bedroom being used for growing cannabis plants and that the 33-year-old occupant was tampering with the electricity meter.

Growing large amounts of cannabis requires constant light and heat.

The suspect was arrested and has since been bailed pending further investigation.

The CPS is deciding whether to charge.
