POLICE investigating fraud allegations at City Hall swooped on two Dagenham addresses last week.

A businessman was arrested during the raids, which took place on the morning of Tuesday, March 18.

The arrest is believed to be in connection with the London Development Agency (LDA) fraud probe.

Scotland Yard released a statement later that day saying that detectives from the Metropolitan Police's Economic Crime squad had arrested 53-year-old man under the Theft Act in connection with the 'non return of overpaid monies'.

The man was taken to Belgravia police station in West London for questioning and was later bailed.

He is due to return for further questioning in June.

Two men previously arrested for money laundering in connection with the allegations have been released on bail pending further questioning by the police.
