A GUN was held to the head of a woman as armed thieves raided a Post Office in Dagenham.

The attack took place at around 1.20pm on Friday, April 4 when two men entered the office in Porters Avenue, Dagenham.

They approached the counter and held the gun to the head of a female employee.

They then threatened a male employee and forced him to let them behind the counter where they stole a quantity of cash.

The thieves, who were both wearing balaclavas, then made off in a black vehicle towards the Roundhouse roundabout.

The victims were badly shaken after the event and described their attackers as white, about 5ft 10ins, 30 to 35-years-old and slim.

The Flying Squad are now appealing for witnesses to this attack and urge anyone who has any details to come forward.
