RAIL PASSENGERS are facing disruptions and closures to travel this Christmas as major improvement works are underway.

The London Overground service from Barking to Gospel Oak will be closed on December 28 and 29 (Saturday and Sunday).

This Sunday (November 23) the line will be suspended between Barking and South Tottenham but rail replacement busses will run between the two destination.

Other affected lines over the Christmas holiday period are the National Express service to and from East Anglia, which will start and finish at Ilford due to the partial closure Liverpool Street Station on the same weekend, and the London Overground from Stratford to Dalston Kingsland, which will be closed from December 27 to January 1.
