THE Green Fair season of gigs at Ilford Sports Club ends on Friday, with Playing Rapunzel - an energetic duo who share songs of story and myth in rich, powerful harmony and provide great laughs too!

Green Fair members Chris Wyatt and Steve Collins began the monthly sessions in November. Guests have included Ten String Fever, The Green Ray, Dr Blue & the Prescription, Groove Therapy, PK Quartet and the Blue Hearts, providing a diverse mix of folk, rock, blues, funk, jazz and R&B.

Many of these and other acts will take part in the Redbridge Midsummer Music Fest on July 11 and 12.

Support at Friday's gig, in High Road, Ilford, from 8pm, comes from Asymmetry, an eclectic seven-piece band combining jazz-funk, latin, acoustic rock and more; Upstreet Irregulars, an acoustic folk quartet and Way T' Go, a teenage four-piece back by popular demand.
