ENGLAND defender Matty Upson really has been Mr Consistency this season and it is an attribute that has earned him the Recorder Ratings Player of the Year.
Again it was a close-run thing with James Tomkins maybe only losing out courtesy of his harsh sending off at Everton. But in the end, with 41 splendid appearances and hardly a mistake in all that time, Upson's average of 7.44 takes the crown with Tomkins second (7.33), Scott Parker third (7.25) and Rob Green fourth with an average of 7.14.
