Students from Barking and Dagenham College have sacrificed their half term holiday to support the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
The sixty public service students joined forces with the Legion’s North East Metropolitan region to try and raise £5,000.
They took to the streets by landmarks including St Paul’s Cathedral and the Tower of London to sell poppies and collect donations.
Chris Robertson, 22, said: “This is such an important cause so we all wanted to get involved.
“We’ve met some amazing people through the Royal British Legion and the public have been very friendly and very generous, which has been great to see.”
Chris Lashmar, 20, added: “We’ve given up our half-term but that’s nothing to what servicemen and women have done. We’re really happy we’ve been able to help.”
