Perhaps President Obama could act as a scout for us when he returns to the States. After all, he travels widely throughout the country and, through his choice of team to support, obviously knows a thing or two about the game.

Also, it was interesting to see Sean 'Has' Bean recently appear in Channel Four's 'Red Riding' mini-series as a millionaire property developer with a sideline as a psychopathic child-killer.

Given the low opinion that many West Ham fans have of him, I thought it was rather brave of him to attempt such a role.

In future he should stick to acting rather than giving his support to those professional scroungers who just mugged us of millions.
