A TOP Royal is coming to Dagenham to meet disabled youths this Wednesday.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, is visiting the Ab Phab Youth Club at Kingsley Hall, Parsloes Avenue, Dagenham.

He will meet members of the club and see how one of London's most inclusive youth clubs provides activities for disabled youngsters.

Tim Baggs from the Disablement Association of Barking & Dagenham (DABD) said: "Ab Phab has been shown to be one of the most inclusive clubs in London, and this needs to be credited to all the hard work by the staff and volunteers."

The club is a member of London Youth, of which the Duke of Edinburgh is Patron.

It was set up by the DABD in 1997 and provides easy access to activities for disabled youths, ranging from cookery, table tennis, face painting and sports to DJ sessions and electronic music making.

Prince Philip will be given a tour of the club after meeting the Mayor of Barking & Dagenham, Cllr Fred Barnes and key people from the charity, the club and Essex Youth.

A film crew will be present to record material for a documentary about Prince Philip's work, which will be shown later this year.
