Commuters suffered further disruption to their journeys yesterday after a crash involving a car and a motorcyclist saw two lanes of the westbound A13 closed off.

A 40-year-old man was taken to Queen’s Hospital, Romford, following the collision, which happened near the junction with Ferry Lane in Rainham at about 3.30pm.

The London Ambulance Service said the man, who is being treated for a head injury, was conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived.

The A13 road, which runs through Barking, is a major commuting route to and from the capital.
