DAGENHAM 88 RUNNERS' Rob Sargent once again impressed in two contrasting events on consecutive weekends.
First he took part in the testing Finchley 20-mile road race, a four-lap event that takes place on the roads of Ruislip and features a stiff climb on each lap.
Sargent finished in 137th place out of a field of over 500 in 2 hours 30 minutes and 46 seconds, gaining him sixth spot in the M50 category.
The following weekend, he travelled to Ruthin in North Wales for the British Masters Cross-Country Championship.
The race started on the local school sports field before moving on to local farmland.
Sargent came home in 41st position in a quality field in the M50 age category in his last year in this age group, after recording a time of 37.47 for the 8.8km course. This was the highest placing he has achieved in this category in the event.
