SELFISH thieves stole hundreds of pounds worth of lead and caused massive damage to a school roof.

Teachers arrived to work on Thursday March 27 at Monteagle Primary in Burnham Road, Dagenham, to find their school had been burgled again.

This is the fifth time hooligans have broken in and taken lead from the school's roof to sell for scrap metal.

Staff and pupils have been dealing with this ongoing problem since Christmas but none of the thieves have been caught.

Officers were called to Monteagle on Friday March 28 but unfortunately there was very little they could do to help.

CCTV is in operation on the school premises but the picture is not clear enough for police to make an arrest.
