Reports are coming in of a second accident within two days at the junction of Whalebone Lane and the A12 this afternoon.
The incident, believed to involve three cars and a truck, occurred at the traffic lights close to the Moby Dick pub on Whalebone Lane, Chadwell Heath shortly after 12 noon.
Natalie Cowen (@xxxsexynatxxx) who tweeted this photo, said: “I think something really needs doing as there have been too many accidents now.” Samuel Tarry, Labour councillor for Chadwell Heath, tweeted: “I’ll raise something urgent with cabinet members and the CEO now.”
On Monday morning two people were injured during a collision between a car and a van at the same junction.
One of them was trapped in a vehicle and was taken to hospital after they were freed by firemen who were called to the scene at around 9.30am.
The accident caused severe delays for commuters at Whalebone Lane with lane restrictions both ways on the A12.
Traffic was flowing normally again after lane restrictions were lifted.
