THE MANTIS Kick-boxing Gym in Forest Gate had plenty to celebrate on Sunday when Blerim Pjetri returned as a Champion from the ISKA UK British Champion-ships held at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet.

The title winner was decided during seven thrilling two-minute rounds against the Southern Area Champion Danny Elie from Aveley.

The fight swayed in different directions with both fighters surviving heavy assaults. Elie received two standing counts in round four, before Blerim displayed swift hand techniques to eventually stop his tough opponent in the seventh round of an exciting contest and emerge as the new British Champion.

Cornerman and co-coach Mike Ferguson claimed: "There were some hairy moments in there as Elie was tough and determined, but our tactics were to take the fight to him and knock him out of his stride, it worked.
