POLICE are re-appealing for information about a shocking sex attack on a young girl nearly a year after the crime took place.
Pleas for information about a shoeless man who pounced on a 16-year-old in Dagenham have been made on national TV show, Crimewatch.
The attack happened on 18 August 2008 in Sheppey Road.
A 16-year-old girl was walking home around midnight with friends after a night out when they noticed a man walking behind them.
The man, who was not wearing any shoes, had his trousers pulled down and was exposing himself.
The girls ran away but the man chased them, he caught up with one of the girls and sexually assaulted her.

Her friends came to her aid and she was able to get away. The attacker ran off in the direction they had come from.
He was described as a black man, aged about 18-21 with cane rows in his hair that had a fluffy afro at the back where it came out of the plaits.
He was about 6ft tall and of muscular build, wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a white tight vest and socks.
He also had a thick, silver chain around his neck.
Police are appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the E-fit to come forward or for anyone who has information to call them on 0208 2175535.
