Shakespeare’s magical tale of The Tempest was brought to life with a twist at Barking Park over the weekend.
Experimental theatre company Teatro Vivo adapted the epic play to be told from the perspective of the spirit Ariel after dictator Prospero has relinquished control and left the island for good.
The audience was taken on a journey that looked beyond the action of the Bard’s own tale.
Taking place within the park, the promenade performance took the audience on an adventure through the trees.
There may have also been some familiar faces in the crowd as the professional cast were joined by volunteers from the local area who became a ‘spirits of the island’ and formulated a chorus.
