Two sisters have organised a bus to transport donations to victims of the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower.
The blaze claimed at least six lives and left 20 people in a critical condition after it ripped through the tower block in the early hours of this morning.
Joanne Wilkins and her sister Kelly Jordan, who works at the Go Ahead depot in Barking, have organised a bus from the River Road site to transport donations for the hundreds left homeless from the fire.
They are urging anyone with spare clothes, blankets, children’s toys and tins of food to drop them off at the bus depot or at her home in Rainham by 11am on Friday.
“It’s so awful,” said Joanne, who said she was moved to help after hearing the news this morning.
“This isn’t just one or two people, hundreds have been affected,” she added. “I just think after everything that’s been going on people need to stick together, and this shows people are willing to help each other.”
