STREAMS OF champagne flooded the house of Pat and Kathleen Sullivan as they celebrated their 60th anniversary on April 17.

The 83-year-old retired Ford worker and his 81-year-old wife, from Cornwallis Road, Dagenham, celebrated with friends and relatives.

If not on holiday two or three times a year, the two enjoy shopping, snooker, bingo or the company of their four children, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The two met at a hop-picking holiday in Kent, and fell in love immediately.

They married at Holy Family Church in Oxlow Lane, Dagenham, six months later.

Pat, a chief superintendent at Fords, retired over 20 years ago, but Kathleen kept going back to her work as a home help for the council until she was 70.

The sociable couple love going abroad with their family several times a year.

Mrs Sullivan is the centre of her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's attention.

Daughter, Kathleen Tilson said: "She has got a very good way with children. They all flock to her. She makes things fun.
